Are the herbs in the 2 day diet lingzhi ok for an overweight teen?

The Japanese live longer than anyone else in the world, but a Japanese diet pill could kill you, according to a warning by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Japanese 2-Day Linzhi Diet pill contains mushrooms, herbs and, according to the FDA, a controlled substance that may cause heart attacks and strokes.
Serious Side Effects

Sibutramine, a controlled substance, is a hidden ingredient in the 2-Day Lingzhi Diet Pill. It works to suppress appetite and was sometimes prescribed by doctors in the United States to overweight patients. Subutramine helped some patients lose weight, but U.S. production of sibutramine was discontinued after serious side effects were discovered. You can still buy 2-Day Lingzhi Diet pills online, but the risks of taking subutramine are great. The diet pill is among 69 products that the FDA issued warnings against in 2009.

Some substances, including caffeine and cold medications, may adversely interact with the sibutramine in the 2-Day Lingzhi Diet Pill. Persons taking monamine oxidase, amphetamines, blood thinners and cancer chemotherapy drugs should not take subutramine. The drug could also interact with some medications for coughs, colds, allergies, depression, nausea, migraine headaches, anxiety, seizures, mental illness and pain, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

Metabolism

Lingzhi, sometimes called the “herb of spiritual potency,” is a mushroom used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but not for specifically for weight loss. The 2-Day Lingzhi Diet Pill contains another mushroom, fu-ling. Fu-ling, also called Tuckahoe, is supposed to strengthen the spleen. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, a healthy spleen promotes metabolism. You may also lose some water weight by taking Tuckahoe, as it is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to promote urination.
Diuretics and Laxatives

Three seemingly safe ingredients in the 2-Day Lingzhi Diet Pill may also help you lose weight: fox-nut, semen pruni and wheat germ. Fox-nut, the seeds of a deciduous plant, may increase urination as well as strengthen your spleen. Semen pruni acts as both a diuretic and a laxative. Fox-nut and semen pruni will not help you lose fat – only taking in fewer calories or burning more can accomplish that. Weight loss from semen pruni and fox-nut may, therefore, be temporary. You are likely to regain weight once you stop taking the pills, according to “The New York Times.” Wheat germ contains fiber and a waxy substance called octaconasol, which may help endurance and lower cholesterol.
Additional Benefits

Two remaining ingredients in 2-Day Lingzhi Diet pills – mountain ebony and discoreae – may improve your health but do not seem likely to enhance weight loss. Mountain ebony, a homeopathic treatment for diabetes, may lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Discoreae, a steroid found in some oral contraceptives, has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to strengthen the spleen, lungs, kidneys and stomach. Some of its effects seem to offset those in other ingredients. Discoreae can increase appetite, stop diarrhea and slow urination.
