castor oil has been used for years and YEARS but it usually only works if your body is completely ready to go.
otherwise… you just poop alot.
the contractions in your intestines set off irritation to the uterus… which then may contract. (like domino effect)
but those may not last long if at all. once you poop, there’s nothing to annoy your uterus, therefore, contractions usually stop.
But info on the castor oil it actually causes diarrhea and contractions of the colon and thus can cause sympathetic reactions to the uterus (also smooth muscles). There’s no guarantee or good time line and if your body and baby aren’t ready it won’t do you much good unless you needed an excuse to spend more time on the toilet which with all the water
