Low back pain that goes through my leg

The pain is on my right lower back ,sometimes all around my waist.I can also feel it through my thigh.I can’t bend for a long time or pick something that’s heavy

It sounds like sciatica. Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg. Typically, sciatica affects only one side of your body. Here are few tips:

  • Apply heat to the areas that hurt. If the pain continue, try alternating warm and cold packs.
  • Do stretching exercises for your low back which can help you feel better and might help relieve nerve root compression.
  • Always maintain proper posture when you sit. Keep your back straight and bend only at the knees.
  • Avoid lifting and twisting simultaneously.
