A bone marrow test is a procedure in which a small sample of cells or tissue is collected from the bone marrow. It can be a bone marrow aspiration or a bone marrow biopsy or both.
A needle is inserted inside the bone marrow of the hip bone for removing a small sample of cells or tissue for examination under the microscope.
