This is the non medical term for overexposure to many damaging rays. This is an inflammatory reaction by your tissues, applying Ice is a good idea, but your dr. May deceide to place you on a steroid to reduce the swelling.

It will only take a day or two for the swelling to go down so don’t be too worried. Try rubbing some ice cubes on your lips and keeping them cool. This will help get some of the heat out which is the main problem (just like other burns). Also, make sure you drink lots of water and keep hydrated. Your lips should be back to normal in no time - good luck!
