My doctor schedules c-sections for the Monday before your due date. (Monday is his designated surgery or inductions day.)
He believes in leaving the baby in the womb for as long as possible as there is much brain development that continued until the 40th week. I’ve heard of other doctors who will do scheduled c-sections anywhere from 36 weeks on but I would rather go as close to the due date as possible.
