Not all acne causes scars. Some acne can leave behind temporary pseudo-scars – the skin will appear red and inflamed when the acne is active and may even leave behind scar-like tissue, but the injury isn’t deep enough to scar. After a few months, the pseudo-scar disappears. Your genes also play a role in determining whether your acne will scar – some people are simply more prone to scarring than others
